The presenter selects the language they will speak in - and the participants select the language they would like to listen or read in. The translation is managed in real-time by the Wordly Platform.

The Wordly Platform and translation app are designed to make meetings, webinars, conferences, and training sessions more productive and inclusive by enabling participants to listen or read along in real-time in the language they prefer. Wordly is available via the cloud for live, hybrid and on-site meetings.

What is Language Interpretation?

Language interpretation is the process of managing the oral or voice communication from one source language into one or more output languages. The interpretation could be done simultaneously (in real-time) or consecutively (having the presenter pause at intervals to allow for interpretation over the same audio channel) - and could be either an exact translation or an approximate translation of the original content. The terms “interpretation” and “translation” are sometimes used interchangeably even though they actually have different meanings. Interpretation typically refers to spoken language while translation refers to written text.

Benefits of Language Interpretation

Most organizations are global with a wide range of multilingual constituents, including employees, customers, partners, vendors, members, and citizens. This creates a big communication challenge since the language spoken at meetings and events is often not the preferred language for the audience - leading to lower productivity, higher costs, lack of inclusion, and reduced participation. Offering language interpretation at meetings and events enables both speakers and participants to participate in their preferred languages which increases engagement, learning, and participation. Language inclusivity is another benefit of offering simultaneous interpretation at meetings and events.
